BECU is headquartered in Washington state. The credit union was founded in 1935 for employees of The Boeing Co. At the time, new employees had to purchase their own tools, but this was a challenge for many as the country was in the midst of the Great Depression. A group of employees founded the credit union to make loans to workers so they could buy the tools they needed.
BECU offers checking, savings and CD accounts, credit and debit cards, personal and vehicle loans, and mortgages and home equity loans. Business banking is also available. Credit union members enjoy online banking and a mobile app and can send and receive money using Zelle.
